A woman who served Bland County as Assistant County Administrator for four months has accused her boss of sexual harassment. In a complaint filed today in U-S District Court, Lisa Umberger says County Administrator David Grove tried to "establish a romantic relationship with her." When she rebuffed his advances, Umberger claims Grove retaliated by shutting her out of county meetings. She went to the county attorney with her concerns on June 22 of last year. Six days later she learned the county administrator had resigned, but that the board of supervisors was "dissatisfied" with her performance. She was terminated two days after that.
