Authorities say that a body found in the Greenbrier State Forest yesterday is the same age, sex and size as Jennifer Short. But investigators do NOT believe it is the missing Henry County girl.

A motorist discovered the partially decomposed body over a bank in an area where trash is frequently dumped illegally.
The body has been sent to the state medical examiner's office in South Charleston.

West Virginia State Troopers have told Henry County investigators that based on flesh, hair, and other evidence, they do not believe this is 9-year-old Jennifer.

To help in the search, investigators yesterday released new photos of Jennifer Short.
They're designed to show a more personal glimpse of Jennifer in hopes someone who may have information will decide to come forward.

As for the body found in West Virginia, an autopsy is scheduled for 8:30 this morning.
Henry County deputies do not plan to travel to West Virginia because, again, they do not believe it is Jennifer Short.

Eddie Albert's dogs dug up the some bones belonging to a child or young adult in Rockingham County Wednesday.
A microscopic test comparing Jennifer's hair to hair found on the remains showed they did NOT match.

State budget cuts have left many higher education institutions struggling to find ways to survive. Virginia Tech's Math department says that another round of cuts will force it to cut classes.

The department has already eliminated 18-teaching positions, 12-graduate assistant positions and all of its honors courses...in response to the state's last round of cuts.
It also added some courses on-line, that would otherwise be cut.

Rossi says in all, there are about 230-math courses in the department.
He says he may end up combining some of them to prevent others from being cut.
Governor Warner ordered all state agency heads to plan to reduce their budgets by five to fifteen percent.

Roy Inge Junior is charged with capital murder in the May 17th shooting death of Deputy Frankie Betterton.
At a hearing yesterday morning, a judge denied the defense motion for a change of venue.
The defense argued it would be impossible to find an impartial jury in Pittsylvania County.
Judge William Alexander held off ruling on whether Inge is competent to stand trial.
The trial is set to start November 4th.

The Goose Point campground is currently closed for a 2- million dollar renovation project.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers planned to prohibit day use at the beach once it re-opens.
But that angered many nearby residents and Congressman Virgil Goode recently sent a letter asking the Corps to reconsider its decision.
A Corps spokesperson says it is now considering a plan to allow a limited number of day users at Goose Point.
