The company's corporate owner says that money will now be put to work in the plant. Officials already say 2-million dollars of new equipment is in the facility. The governor says he'll need to spend that time dealing with the state's finances and preparing budget amendments.

State budget cuts have also left many higher education institutions struggling to find ways to get around it.
One example is Virginia Tech's Math department, which says another round of cuts will force it to cut classes.

Governor Warner ordered all state agency heads to plan to reduce their budgets by five to fifteen percent.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reconsidering a controversial plan at Philpott Lake.

The Corps planned to prohibit day use at the beach once it re-opens.
