(( WHETHER IT'S WALKING HOME FROM SCHOOL OR A FRIEND'S HOUSE, YOU CAN'T BE WITH YOUR KDIS ALL OF THE TIME.
THAT'S WHY IT'S IMPORTANT TO TEACH THEM WHAT TO DO IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS.
AGAIN.. WE REALIZE THIS RARELY HAPPENS, BUT WOULD YOUR KIDS KNOW HOW TO RESPOND TO A WOULD-BE ABDUCTOR?
HERE'S A QUICK QUIZ TO FIND OUT HOW PREPARED YOUR KIDS ARE.
OUR TEST BEGINS WITH THE WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL.
QUESTION NUMBER ONE: YOU'RE ON YOUR WAY HOME WHEN YOU NOTICE A CAR SLOWLY FOLLOWING YOU.
IT PULLS UP BESIDE YOU.
YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE CAR OR THE DRIVER.. WHAT DO YOU DO?

A. ASK WHAT THEY WANT.
B. TURN AND RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
C. SEE IF THEY'LL GIVE YOU A RIDE HOME.

THE CORRECT ANSWER IS B. TURN AND RUN..

IT'S A LOT FASTER FOR A PERSON TO TURN AROUND THAN A CAR.. SO TAKE OFF.. AND DON'T LOOK BACK.

QUESTION NUMBER TWO.
YOU'RE OUT FOR A BIKE RIDE WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO PULL YOU INTO HIS CAR.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
A. SCREAM AND HOLD ONTO YOUR BIKE. B. WALK AWAY FROM YOUR BIKE. C. TOSS YOUR BIKE AND RUN FOR IT.

THE ANSWER IS A.
ABDUCTORS DON'T WANT TO ATTRACT ATTENTION .. AND THEY DON'T WANT YOU TO BE DIFFICULT.
AND IT'S PRETTY DIFFICULT TO PUT A BIKE INTO A CAR DOOR SIDEWAYS.. SO HANG ON FOR DEAR LIFE.

QUESTION NUMBER THREE.
YOU'RE OUT PLAYING WHEN A CAR PULLS UP.
THE DRIVER TELLS YOU THERE'S BEEN AN ACCIDENT AND YOUR MOM NEEDS YOU..
WHAT DO YOU DO:
A. JUMP IN.. SECONDS COUNT WHEN A LOVED ONE NEEDS YOU. B. ASK FOR THE FAMILY PASSWORD. C. SCREAM AND RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.. D. BOTH B AND C.

THE ANSWER IS.. D.
REMEMBER.. YOUR FAMILY PROBABLY WOULND'T SEND A STRANGER TO FIND YOU IN AN EMERGENCY..
EVEN IF THEY SENT A FAMILY FRIEND.. ASK THEM FOR YOUR FAMILY'S SECRET PASSWORD..
SOMETIMES.. PEOPLE WHO DO BAD THINGS ARE PEOPLE WE ALREADY KNOW.
A PASSWORD WILL MAKE SURE THEY WERE SENT BY YOUR MOM OR DAD..

QUESTION NUMBER FOUR.
AN ABDUCTOR TELLS YOU TO GET IN THE CAR OR HE'LL SHOOT YOU.
WHAT DO YOU DO.
A. DO WHAT HE SAYS. YOU CAN'T FIGHT A GUN. B. TRY TO KNOCK THE GUN AWAY. C. SCREAM AND RUN..

THE ANSWER IS C.
IF YOU THINK THE SITUATION IS BAD OUTSIDE OF THE CAR,, IT WOULD BE MUCH WORSE INSIDE.
RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN... SCREAMING AND RUNNING IN A CROOKED LINE.
THAT WAY HE DOES SHOOT.. HE'LL HAVE A TOUGH TIME HITTING YOU.
QUESTION NUMBER FIVE.
SOMEONE YOU DON'T KNOW ASKS YOU TO HELP FIND HIS LOST PUPPY. WHAT DO YOU DO?
A. GO WITH HIM TO FIND THE PUPPY. B. IGNORE HIM AND HOPE HE LEAVES YOU ALONE. OR C. RUN, YELL AND TELL.
THE ANSWER IS C. NO ADULT SHOULD HAVE TO ASK FOR HELP FROM A CHILD. AND EVEN IF HE BRIBES YOU WITH MONEY OR CANDY.. DON'T BELIEVE IT.. INSTEAD.. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN.. YELLING FOR HELP AND TELLING YOUR MOM AND DAD WHAT HAPPENED.

QUESTION NUMBER SIX. YOU'RE TRAPPED IN AN ABDUCTOR'S CAR.. AND THEY GET OUT.. WHAT CAN YOU PUT INTO THE CAR'S IGNITION TO JAM IT?
A. A SMALL BUTTON.. B. A NICKEL.. C. A FINGER.

THE ANSWER IS A..
A SMALL BUTTON IS USUALLY THE RIGHT SIZE TO JAM INTO WHERE THE KEY GOES.. PUSH THE BUTTON IN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE.
THE ABDUCTOR WON'T BE ABLE TO START THE CAR.. GIVING YOU ANOTHER CHANCE TO RUN FOR IT.))
