in a field off Timber Ridge Road in Glade Hill. It took an additional set of dental records to positively identify the remains as those of the 37-year old mother of four. Sheriff Quint Overton says- -for now- -it's a "suspicious death," one that's still under investigation.

State police say an out-of-state tractor trailer overturned this afternoon in the southbound lanes at mile marker 105 near Radford.
The driver from Mississippi was killed.
One southbound lane is open, but State police are reporting a serious back-up that could last several hours.
They suggest Southbound traffic detour onto Route-11 at exit 114 and get back on the interstate at exit 98.

A collision between a car and a train in Campbell County killed one woman and another injured.

State police say Bessie Yuille (yool) was crossing the tracks on Billy Lane just south of Rustburg and apparently never saw the train bearing down on her.
The northbound Norfolk Southern locomotive was traveling about 35 miles per hour when it struck Yuille's car broadside, pushing it 150 yards down the track.
Yuille was killed instantly.. her passenger, 54-year-old Louise Blair, suffered minor injuries.

A Buchanan man pleaded no contest in Botetourt County court today to charges stemming from a fatal auto accident.

19-year-old John Perry Crouch entered into a plea agreement for driving under the influence and involuntary manslaughter. State police say Crouch was driving on Route-43 in April when he ran of the road and hit a tree. His passenger, 26-year-old Joseph Daren Wood of Natural Bridge, died at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The prosecution says Crouch admitted he had been drinking and that his blood alcohol tested above the legal limit. Sentencing is set for January 23rd. Crouch faces up to 10-years in jail for the involuntary manslaughter charge.

Police in Lynchburg are looking for a nine-year-old girl who turned up missing about three hours ago.
Dominique Elizabeth Womack was last seen near Payne Elementary School at 12th and Floyd Streets.
Police say she may have gotten into a black vehicle in that area.
Womack is white, about 4 feet 6 inches tall. She has blonde hair in a pony tail. She was wearing a green dres with flowers and a green shawl.
Police ask anyone who may have seen her to call 9-1-1.

Virginia is cracking down on Medicaid fraud.

Attorney General Jerry Kilgore today said the state recovered a record 12 million dollars in fraudulent Medicaid payments last year.
The previous record was two-and-a-half million dollars.
After the federal government takes its cut, eight million dollars will be returned to Virginia's Medicaid program.


Kilgore attributed the increase to the hard work of his Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and state and federal law enforcement agents.
