Henry County and North Carolina authorities say they'll meet Monday to discuss plans to interview a North Carolina man they call a possible "witness."

Gary Bowman, remains in custody in Yellowknife -- in the Northwest Territories -- charged with illegally entering the country and lying to officials about his criminal record.
Investigators have not identified him as a suspect, but believe he may know something about the murders of Jennifer, Mary and Michael Short. Canadian officials say they're doing all they can to help with the investigation. They also seized his van, which investigators here hope to search.

Authorities say a hospital patient stole an ambulance and took it for a joyride yesterday.
That's when a Montvale rescue squad crew noticed its ambulance was missing, after dropping a patient off at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Bedford County deputies say ANOTHER patient who had been discharged took it for a spin -- even turning on the lights and siren.
He got all the way to Franklin County before deputies stopped him.
Charges -- and the patient's name -- are pending from Roanoke City Police.

A man is dead after a fiery single-car accident in Bedford County last night.
It happened just before 11 on Route 626.
State police say 66-year-old Warren Taylor of Huddleston ran off the side of the road, overcorrected and went down an embankment before his car caught fire.

The lawsuit blames AIPAC and crossover votes for her primary loss. A federal court is being asked to throw out crossover votes - declaring them unconstitutional. McKinney's father has also joined the suit and is asking the court to throw out the election results.

A day of hang gliding turned into a two hour ordeal in Bedford County yesterday evening.

Authorities say a man hang gliding crashed and got stuck in a tree in a remote area near the Peaks of Otter shortly before seven o'clock. Officials also say he called a friend for help, who tried to free him, but needed assistance from rescue personnel. The two men then called for assistance and were eventually freed by rescue personnel. Authorities say the hang glider suffered only a broken nose, and the other man was not injured.

The second annual Apple Fall Festival and Show took place at the SunTrust Plaza in downtown Roanoke.
This year's event featured everything from caramel apples and apple cobbler, to apple soap and butter.
Money raised from the festival benefits the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the Roanoke Valley.

Vinton's Farmers Market hosted the first ever Downtown Turnaround and Fall Festival yesterday.
This year's event featured an antique car show as well as more than thirty vendors and artists.
Several musical acts also took the stage throughout the day.
Organizers hope to make this festival an annual event.
