Patrols were increased around several Washington D-C area schools today- after yesterday's sniper shooting of a 13 year old.
That boy is recovering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Today federal authoritieis say they will help in the investigation.
And tonight Maryland's Governor is asking the sniper to surrender.

The North Carolina man authorities want to question in the Jennifer Short case has been moved to a long-term detention center in Canada as he awaits a deportation hearing later this week.
Meanwhile, investigators from our area are preparing to leave as early as Thursday to interview him.

Yesterday, during a detention hearing, 66-year-old Garrison Bowman told officials he was a suspect in the family's murders but indicated it was because someone had lied to authorities.

A Montgomery County circuit court judge threw out Marye's challenge to the redistricting plan that has cost him his seat.
