The Grandin Theater closed nearly a year ago for renovations but the landmark re-opened this week. Yesterday afternoon, the Grandin welcomed its first movie-goers. A little more than 80- people purchased tickets for the 5:15 and 7:15 showings. And-- those we spoke to said they were impressed with the atmosphere and renovations.

Virginia Tech police say they found six counterfeit tickets during Saturday's homecoming game versus Rutgers University.
They say the people who bought the tickets were able to get past the gates, but, soon discovered their seats didn't exist.
Officers say they believe the people who sold the tickets are the same ones behind the 30-found last month during the Marshall game.

Bagwell's on a promotional tour of Virginia and North Carolina.

Bagwell was one of the biggest stars of World Championship Wrestling.
You may remember the 1998 mishap when he injured his back, neck, and spine when his head got caught in the wrong place.
Bagwell says he does most of his wrestling overseas now that the W-C-W is defunct.

Three people are in custody charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a Lynchburg man.

26-year-old Eugene Peyton Davis was shot during an argument in the parking lot of Smitty's Restaurant near Amherst around two o-clock yesterday morning.
Authorities have charged 22-year-old Terrence Leman (LEE-man) Durden with murder and 22-year-old Brendan Draper Reid with being an accessory after the fact.
Both men are from Charlottesville.
A 17-year-old boy also faces firearms charges in the shooting.

More than 13- thousand students ride city buses each day. Bus drivers in the City undergo twice as much training than they're required to by state law. Students are kept up to speed, as well. Transportation officials hold bus safety classes for pre- school through third- grade students once a year. Sunday kicked off National School Bus Safety Week and local officials hope to remind motorists to use caution when sharing the road with buses.

K-B Toys is once again hiring seasonal employees at its Pittsylvania County warehouse. Officials say they need a THOUSAND people to help with the holiday rush at the Blairs fulfillment center. Workers there process and ship Internet and phone orders for K-B, E-Toys and new this year.... toys from Sears.
Officials say available positions are full and part time and vary from customer service representatives to warehouse workers. On average, the warehouse can ship about 190-thousand toys a day at the peak of the season.
