The murder trial of a D-E-A Agent resumes later this morning. Prosecutors say an obscene gesture may be what started the altercation that left one man dead last February.

Workers at the Volvo truck assembly plant in Dublin have some new work ahead for them. The company will begin production of its new V-N heavy-duty truck there later this fall. No word yet on what effect, if any, it might have on employment there .. but company officials will be in Dublin later today to show off the new product and explain what it means for the plant's immediate future.

Garrison Bowman is in a southside jail. He's being held as a "material witness" in the Short family murder case.
Authorities brought Bowman to Danville yesterday.

Bowman, who moved to Canada just after the Shorts were killed, arrived back in the United States Monday night. He was initially flown to North Carolina where he was questioned by investigators for three hours. Rayna DuBose is the young woman who was hospitalized with a rare form of meningitis last May. At the Hokies football game over the weekend ... Rayna's basketball teammates collected 37-THOUSAND dollars in donations to help with her medical costs. Dubose had parts of all four limbs amputated and has been fitted with prosthesis. The money will help pay for things like mio-electric hands and other treatments that could add up to several million dollars. Dubose says she plans to return to the Blacksburg campus.

Dino (Die-no) McSporran showed up yesterday outside the Museum of Natural History after being stolen two-months ago. The fiberglass figure was part of dino parade in uptown Martinsville. Overnight the plaid dinosaur, which was bolted into cement, disappeared. A police report was filed and a two-hundred dollar reward was offered. Art officials have no idea who took McSporran but say they're glad it's back for their silent auction. A total of 26-painted dinos are being sold to the highest bidders.

Puerto Rico is kicking the former evangelist out.
The corrections secretary there says Leyva never got permission to move and there are NO guarantees that he's rehabilitated.
Leyva was released from prison this year after serving 11 years for molesting young boys.
He lived in Roanoke for almost seven months -- and stayed out of trouble -- before heading to Puerto Rico last week.

The National D-Day Memorial in Bedford unveils its newest addition later today. It's the replica of a statue that stands in France .. in one of the first communities to be liberated after the D-Day invasion. The original statue in (tray-vee-AYR) Treviers was damaged by gunfire during the battle .. and its copy also shows that damage. The statue will be dedicated today at 4 PM.

90 Virginia counties and cities made the U-S Department of Agricultures drought designations yesterday. Those areas are now eligible for federal disaster relief.
