A former Washington and Lee University food purchasing agent has been acquitted on three charges of embezzling from the school.
Dee (meer-ee-ELL'-oh) Miriello was accused of helping former Washington and Lee chef, Greg Pearce, embezzle 70-thousand dollars from the school.
Pearce kept cash rebates from food distributors.
Miriello admitted receiving three to four-thousand dollars in cash per year for several years.
But she said Pearce gave the money to her, in lieu of a raise.
