Virginians strongly approved millions of dollars to help state funded colleges and state parks.

Governor Mark Warner says he's excited that Virginians want to make an investment in higher education and state parks.

But it was a mixed night for the Governor.

In Lexington and Rockbridge County, voters said "No" to replacing the century-old courthouse with a new one.. just one block away.

And in Rockbridge County only .. a 10 million dollar bond to finance construction was also on the ballot.
But voters shot that one down as well.

And the residents of Patrick County spoke loud and clear. They want no part of borrowing 37 million dollars to build a new countymiddle school. 83 per cent .. or about 5 of every 6 voters .. voted "No".
