Republican lawmakers told Governor Mark Warner that he should listen to the voters of Virginia-- and not raise taxes...

The group of conservative lawmakers says it's clear that Virginians want the budget balanced through spending cuts, and not tax increases.
They criticized Warner's role as the chief proponent for a regional sales tax referendum, which was rejected Tuesday.
The Republicans say: despite the proposal's defeat, they are concerned that the governor may resort to raising taxes to fill the state's budget shortfall.

Circuit Court Judge George Honts issued the order yesterday against the Lexington City Council and Rockbridge County Board of Supervisors.
On Tuesday, voters in the County and city rejected the 13-million dollar referendum to build a new courthouse and parking deck in Lexington.
Because of the order, a five person panel of architects and engineers will review the state of the courthouse, before the two sides meet in court.
