His 279 yards in receptions not only set a Tech school record, breaking the mark set by Ricky Scales 30 years ago, but it also broke the all-time Big East conference record. His touchdown grabs of 75, 34, 87 and 6 yards also tied the Big East mark, and his 8 catches were a career high. ((ERNEST WILFORD:)) The off-season was a time of serious reflection and soul searching for Wilford. He spent time with a sports psychologist and found out he was in need of contact lenses. He understandably was afraid he would be forever linked with the two point conversion drop against Miami. Saturday's performance against Syracuse took care of that. He took care of his attitude toward the game back in the spring. ((ERNEST WILFORD:)) The injury situation is a mixed bag. Sorely missed middle linebacker Vegas Robinson has been cleared to return to practice, he, running back Kevin Jones and receiver Justin Hamilton are all listed as probable for the West Virginia game.
Tech head athletic trainer Mike Goforth also tells us that Kevin Lewis has pectoral strain - he will have to have an MRI exam on that. And Floyd native Josh Spence is being treated for a concussion.
