The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office is looking for a North Carolina man in connection with the murders of a Blairs couple.
Officials say they believe 27-year old James Antonio (JEN-uh- retti) Generetie of Durham is responsible for the deaths of Willie and Clara Harston earlier this week.

Virginia is bringing more criminals to justice thanks to its DNA databank... the largest one in the country.

Governor Mark Warner toured the state's crime lab today to mark the databank's one-thousandth "cold hit."
That's when DNA from a crime scene is matched to an offender or linked to another crime.
Virginia was the first state to start DNA testing.
Its database now contains the genetic profiles of 187-thousand convicted felons... ranking second in the world, behind only Great Britain.

Steven Keith (A-dare) Adair was arrested by the Secret Service at Tech last March. Investigators said (A-dare) Adair, who is now 19, set up a false e-mail account in the name of a 14-year old in New Jersey. Adair then e-mailed the White House, threatening Bush and Cheney.

She is the first recipent of the school's scholarship program designed to help a woman from Afghanistan live a better life.
Under Taliban rule, life was restricted.

Virginia Military Institute will name a retired FOUR-star General as its new superintendent. General Binford Peay (pee) is a V-M-I graduate himself, class of '62.
His son Ryan just graduated from V-M-I this year. Another son is an Army Lieutenant, also a V-M-I graduate.

General Peay served 35 years in the Army, ending up as Commander-in-Chief of the U-S Central Command for Africa and the Middle East. He'll be introduced on Post a week from Monday, before returning to his native Richmond for a formal announcement. Peay succeeds Lieutenant General Josiah Bunting, who is retiring in his eighth year as Superintendent. Bunting and Peay attended V-M-I together in the early 60's. Virginia's D-M-V is reversing a controversial registration fee.

A new law that went into effect July first authorized the D-M-V to collect two dollars to go toward Virginia's 400th anniversary celebration.
The fee was already added onto your vehicle registration fee.
If you didn't want to pay it, you had to check a box and then deduct two dollars from the amount.
Many Virginians complained the measure was confusing.
So today, the D-M-V announced it will revise the form to make it easier to read- It'll stop automatically adding the two bucks to the bill.

After two seasons in Winston Cup, it seems Mike Bliss cemented a successful return to the Craftsman Truck series by winning the series championship today after the Ford 200.
