The battle has played out in several states across the nation- the latest battlefield just happened to be Alabama.

Lieutenant Governor Tim Kaine says the fact that the sniper suspects were so close to the Capitol is "chilling."
He says Capitol Police may need to rethink some of their security measures.

This non-profit group provides donated venison to families in need.
Kaine's legislation would allow hunters to make a two dollar donation to the charity when purchasing their hunting licenses.

Since the program was started eleven years ago, Virginia hunters have donated nearly one and half million pounds of venison.
Yet each year Hunters for the Hungry is unable to accept thousands of deer due to a shortage of funds to process the meat.

Now one study gives support to diets like the Atkins plan.
The study looked at 120 overweight volunteers-
After six months, people on the Atkins diet lost an average of 31 pounds.
Total cholesterol fell for all people in the study- and those on the Atkins diet had an increase in good cholesterol-
They also had a sharper drop in trigylcerides- that could help reduce one's risk of heart disease.
Researchers say they still can not recommend the Atkins diet broadly.
The lead researcher is at Duke University.

The Roanoke Police Department has chosen a Blacksburg artist to create a memorial to fallen officers.
And today, members of Roanoke City Council gave their blessing to the project.

It depicts one officer who has been wounded, and a second officer kneeling beside him.
