Students stayed home one day last week, and again yesterday, because of continuing problems with heating equipment at the county's combined school.
Technicians worked through the night to get the equipment up and running, and by midafternoon it was back online.
Because four additional days have been built into the schedule, the unexpected vacation has not affected the school calendar.

The University of Virginia went straight by the book when it dismissed 48 students in a plagiarism scandel. The last honor trial wrapped up on Saturday. According to U-V-A's Honor Code, the only punishment for lying, cheating or stealing is dismissal from the school. The Honor Committee Chairman says the punishments show that the student-run disciplinary system works. One-hundred-and-nine students were acquitted.
