A report from the Federal Aviation Administration said the plane crashed around 10:40 P-M.
The Civil Air Patrol spotted the wreckage this morning.

((Israel fended off attacks at home, and abroad - on the
ground and in the air.
The day started with a devastating suicide car bombing
in Mombassa, a Kenyan coastal resort town. The
attackers drove an explosive-laden truck into the
lobby of the Israeli-owned Paradise Hotel.
Two Israeli children and one adult were killed, along
with Kenyan hotel staff and other tourists. A group
calling itself the Army of Palestine claimed
responsibility, but a top Kenyan official blamed it on
Al Qaeda.

A few miles away at about the same time, Kenyan
officials say two heat-seeking missiles were fired at
this Israeli charter jet taking off from Mombassa
airport.
At about five-hundred feet, the captain said he felt a
bump, as if the plane had hit a bird.

saw two white
stripes coming up from behind the airplane on the left
side, and a bit above us.
(on-cam) Most of the passengers had no idea anything
was wrong until the pilot made an announcement, and
Israeli fighter jets flew alongside, escorting the
plane in to land.
On the ground, there was relief, as people realized
what almost happened.))

Gunmen ambushed a U-S special forces convoy. One soldier was shot in the leg. His wound is not believed to be life-threatening.
The injured G-I was riding in a convoy of four pickup trucks near the town of Gardez yesterday afternoon when as many as six gunmen attacked.
Special forces troops returned fire, but the enemy gunmen got away.

For these soldiers of the first Marine Expeditionary Force, it was yet another Thanksgiving away from home.
One marine said it was worth the sacrifice to keep people safe back at home.

A spokesman for the 85-year-old actress says she was riding in a car when the driver lost control and struck a light pole.
Gabor was airlifted to the hospital, where she remains on a respirator. Her family was told that Gabor had suffered multiple injuries.

In 1989, Gabor was sentenced to 72 hours in jail for slapping a Beverly Hills police officer.

They got an early start to the afternoon's work.
The two Navy pilots will conduct a third and final spacewalk Saturday to wrap up work on the new girder.
Americans have been in orbit on ten previous Thanksgivings, but remained inside their spacecraft.

The only way the West Nile Virus is transmitted is from birds to mosquitoes and mosquitoes to humans.
It cannot be spread from person to person.
Hawaii had already started testing dead birds for West Nile. The state says testing dead birds will help them track the virus.
West Nile made its way to North America just three years ago. Now nearly every state on the mainland has confirmed human cases.
