For the first time since 1979, the trees are not located in Lynchburg's River Ridge Mall.. instead their new home is in the city's eight fire stations.
Salvation Army officials hope spreading the trees across the city will make it easier for citizens to pick up cards and drop off gifts.
The Angel Tree program pairs needy children with residents who help fill out the child's Christmas Wish list.
The trees are available from noon to 7 p-m through next Friday.
