An accident in Franklin County this afternoon injured six people including a two-day old baby.

The accident happened around one on northbound 220 in front of Dudley's Truck Stop just outside of Rocky Mount.
State Police say a Pontiac Sedan rear-ended a 91 Jeep Cherokee as the Jeep was slowing down to make a right hand turn.
Troopers say a 15 year old and an infant were ejected from the vehicle.

The six victims were either take to Franklin Memorial or Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
None of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening.

Salem Police say a woman's death in yesterday's storm is NOT suspicious.

The preliminary autopsy report showed that Carol Dickerson of Bent Mountain did die of exposure. Police say Dickerson's car got stuck during the storm on Keagey Road, off of 419, She was found dead around 6 yesterday morning, in front of an empty medical building, next door to a hotel. Police say Dickerson did suffer a medical condition which may have made her confused in the cold weather.

But, school officials were worried they would be forced to cancel the game, because of the snow left behind on and around the field.
That prompted several folks in the community to come together and help remove the snow--which is what they have been doing almost non-stop since one-o-clock YESTERDAY afternoon.

A federal source tells the Associated Press that officials are looking into whether P-Tech is partly owned by someone on a list of potential terrorist financiers.
Sources also say the investigation is focusing on links between P-Tech officials and certain charities.

The first winter storm of the season has left the American Red Cross with just a day and a half supply of blood for the region.
So over the next ten days the Red Cross plans to increase collections to make up for the deficit.
