Snow and sleet mixed with rain fell periodically in most of the area today. That caused several accidents including one near Montvale on Route 4-60. State police say the driver of a green Jeep hit a patch of ice, lost control and rolled the vehicle several times. Both the driver and passenger were transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

((With the threat of war in Iraq and the potential for bio-terror attacks against the United States. The Bush administration made it official today. small pox vaccinationsnot seen for 30 years in this countrywill be given to american soldiers and civilians and even himself .
President Bush: We are ready. Today the president ordered members of the u.s. military serving in high-risk areas to take the small pox vaccine. He is also asking that emergency medical workers and response teams our first line of defense against a home-grown attack be inoculated as well. He says the vaccine will be available for the general public but is not recommending most people get the shot. Stand-up bridge: Officials say for every million shots given at least 1 person will
likely die. Possibly as many as three. A small # of others could also

suffer life-long complications.

Its scary its scary. Some emergency medical workers admit they are concerned about the risk but. Emergency worker...no name: If it could help me help other people and do my job then Ill definitely do it. Small Pox which was eradicated world wide in 1980 is a highly contagious disease that kills 30 percent of its victims.

The president says the vaccinations are precautionary...but he too will get the shot - adding he would never ask the military do do anything he would not. In NY..SC for CBS News.))

Burrow is charged with four counts of fraud for his role in getting bank loans and state grants for the project.
Prosecutors say he misrepresented the D-Day foundation's finances to lenders, but Burrow says he truly believed outstanding pledges would cover the memorial's cash flow problems.
Burrow cried on the stand as he described the effort to get the memorial finished by June 6th, 2001.
He says a thousand World War Two veterans die each day and he wanted as many as possible to be able to see it.
The trial will resume Monday morning.
