A Roanoke man who was accused of sending money to Iraq in violation of U.S. law has been released on bond.
Malik AlMaliki (ahl-MAH-li-kee) was freed this afternoon, after a U-S Magistrate set bond and his friends helped him raise enough money to secure his release.
AlMaliki has lived in the Roanoke Valley for six years, and says he did not knowingly violate any U.S. laws.

The forty car pileup happened on the westbound side of Interstate 64 around one o'clock in the afternoon December 13th.
State Police say heavy fog and sleet were contributing factors.

Investigators say there is a lack of sufficient evidence to charge any particular driver.
The eldest son of Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is slightly injured after his small plane flipped while taxiing at a Nashville airport.

93.5 has traded in Vince Gill for Whitney Houston.
Formerly a country music station, WJLM has a new name and a new format.
Sunny 93.5, which plays soft adult contemporary music, debuted yesterday as WSNV.
Station officials say they changed the format in response to listeners' requests.

Before the disease took his life, chemotherapy took his hair.

A Logger Head turtle is getting some tender loving care at a New England aquarium today.
Ursula is a 150 pound turtle who did not migrate to warmer waters before winter set in this year.
She was rescued from a Cape Cod bay earlier this month.
The sea turtle will be given some medical care, and then flown to warm southern waters for the winter.
