Askia Shabazz, also known as Jermaine Donell Poindexter, was arrested without incident by federal marshals.

Shabazz is wanted for the May 4th fire at Hurt Park.
It didn't do a lot of damage, but Alice Jackson and her two young sons we found dead inside the home.

They include California's recent energy crisis, the Enron debacle, and the overall slowdown of the economy.

The director of Lynchburg's Sheltered Workshop says he wants to work with state regulators to resolve safety concerns they have about the non-profit operation.

Inspectors cited the workshop for 21 serious and non-serious safety violations, ranging from possible exposure to asbestos to a blocked exit sign.
The inspection came after the Virginia Department of Labor and Industry received a complaint about conditions at the workshop.
The department is recommending a 71-hundred dollar fine if the workshop is willing to settle the case by January 30th.
Director Dave Taylor says he's still reviewing the report and has not decided how to respond.

He's also expected to testify against the other accused men. The deal came after one day of negotiations with law enforcement. Over at the Gator Aquatic Center, the Cave Spring girls took care of Hidden Valley by a score of 100 to 70, while the Titan boys turned the tables, winning 106 to 34. (------------)
