Her dog was found walking alone in the neighborhood. Her car still parked in the driveway.
Now police say the search is focused on the Berkeley marina, where Peterson's husband said he went fishing the day Laci disappeared.

Now in Illinois, the Governor has pardoned four death row inmates for that very reason. Governor George Ryan says the four were convicted and sentenced for crimes they did not commit.

At the Martinsville office, the manager says they see up to 300-people a day.

More marines are heading to the Persian Gulf.

About seven thousand marines from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina will join U-S forces there.
Officials say the marines will be part of a Marine Air-Ground Task Force that would include infantry, tanks, amphibious vehicles, supply specialists and aircraft.
The Marines are expected to board ships over the next few days.
More than one thousand marines have already been sent to various places in the Gulf Region.

Police are still investigating a police chase that led to an accident in Roanoke yesterday.

42 year old Christopher Powell of Roanoke was arraigned on three counts of attempted capital murder charges, felony eluding police, and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute. He is being held without bond at the Roanoke City Jail.

Police had tried to arrest Powell as part of a drug investigation, but he sped off before crashing into another car at the intersection of 19th Street and Orange Avenue. The man he hit, Clifton Jones remains in fair condition at Roanoke Memorial Hospital with internal injuries. Jones' wife says it's a miracle her husbands injuries weren't worse, and she feels the police were just doing their jobs in the chase. The pursuit and accident are still under investigation.

The need for blood in the region is prompting a local organization to hold its own blood drive.
The Junior League of the Roanoke Valley has signed up 140 donors to come out on Saturday and give blood.

One of the Bee Gees is hospitalized in critical condition.
A hospital in Miami Beach says singer Maurice Gibb underwent emergency surgery yesterday for a blocked intestine. The 53-year-old is being treated in intensive care, where his condition is described as critical but stable.
Gibb and two brothers formed the Bee Gees.
A spokesman for his twin brother, Robin, says ``everyone is very, very worried.''

Director Steven Spielberg was honored today in Hollywood.

Spielberg already has three Oscars and eight of the highest grossing films of all time. Now he has his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Spielberg, was joined at the ceremony by his wife Kate Capshaw.
He became a household name after "Jaws" became a blockbuster hit in 1975. Seven years later he hit gold again with "ET."
Some of his other films include; "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and "Jurassic Park". The star appropriately enough is in front of the Kodak Theater, the new home of the Academy Awards.
