Today, the nation honors Doctor Martin Luther King Day. Last night more than a hundred Danville residents took to the streets to remember King. They held a a candlelight vigil and protest.
Allegations of police brutality continue to ignite a fierce debate there.
As Justin McLeod tells us, some marchers feel the solution is for the city to appoint an African American police chief.

One example they say is the Rennie Hunt case.

Many people remember what it was like November 30th, after offices were closed several days for Thanksgiving. Well this time, they were closed Friday for Lee-Jackson Day, and they'll be closed today for the Martin Luther King holiday. The offices are already closed Wednesdays to save money, so D-M-V officials predict Tuesday could be very, very busy.

They suggest coming in later in the week, or if possible, doing your business on-line.

Today's arrests are linked to the recent discovery of the deadly poison ricin (RY-sihn).

A police officer was stabbed to death during one of the earlier raids.

Currently, when you make an emergency call on your cell phone, most 9-1-1 dispatchers can only track you to the nearest cell tower.

The F-C-C has mandated that all cell phone providers have the chip in place for 95-percent of their customer base by 2005. (------------)
