Traffic is moving slow on Interstate 81 in Roanoke County.
V-DOT is making some repairs at the scene of an accident on Sunday.
The work has shut down a northbound lane at Exit 143, where 581 joins the highway.
Officials say the crew will be out there for at least another hour, so it could be a while before traffic is back to normal.

A shooting at a California Burger King leaves a child dead.

Reports say the gunman was eating at the Ponoma Burger King when he suddently stopped, approached the child, and shot him in the head.
The toddler, Osvaldo Marinez was taken to the hospital where he died.

Police say the gunman was shot and killed when he allegedly pointed a gun at officers a block away from the crime scene.
Three people have been arrested in the investigation- including the gunman's friend and two others. All are between the ages of 18 and 23 years old.

Prosecutors say they need more time to develop the case against a Lynchburg man suspected in a gang-related shooting last fall.

21-year-old Mario Antwane (AN-twahn) Scott was arrested September 24th for allegedly shooting a woman outside her home on Pierce Street the night before.
Scott was supposed to stand trial today, but prosecutor Cary Payne says he's still waiting on lab results that could link Scott to the shooting.
Payne says investigators have also uncovered evidence that could clear Scott of the charges as well.
A new trial date was set for March.

A Northwest Airlines pilot is under arrest for allegedy trying to get on a plane with a loaded handgun.
Robert Donaldson was stopped before getting on a plane at New York's LaGuardia airport. The gun was reportedly found in his carry on luggage.
Police say he had been scheduled to co-pilot a flight to Detroit.
He is in custody pending an arraignment later today- where he faces three state weapons charges. Donaldson does have a Michigan permit to carry a gun.
A new homeland security bill allows pilots on passenger planes to carry weapons AFTER getting special training.
That program could be operating as early as this spring.

The prosecution says she ran over her husband repeatedly ...in her Mercedez Benz after catching him at a hotel- with another woman Harris says it was an accident. The jury could have some extra help deciding if she's telling the truth. The killing was captured on video tape. Shot at the hotel parking lot ...by an investigative firm hired by Harris.

I'm looking for a person who can identify with the mindset of Clara Harris with all the circumstances that happened with that relationship.
Track: By all appearances Clara and her husband had a good life. They lived in a beautiful suburban home with David's daughter and twin boys. Her step-daughter was in the car when Harris ran over her husband. The Prosecution plans to call the 17 .year old as a witness.

The study shows no public health risks associated with the popular rides.
The study was initiated by the Six Flags Amusement parks, but it was done by the American Association of Neurological surgeons.
Research firms and doctors looked at government data and medical literature. They concluded roller coasters are safe and there is no evidence they cause brain injuries.
The study also found no public health risks linked with going to an amusement park.
