The deal between the two banks actually involves a stock swap of almost three-point-four-billion dollars. BB&T's assets would be boosted to more than $91 billion and create the nation's 11th largest financial institution. That bank is headquartered in Winston Salem, North Carolina While First Virginia is BB&T's largest acquisition, officials cite a successful track record of larger merger integrations.
