It all started when a gunman took a postal worker hostage in a mail truck, led police on a high speed chase, and then remained holed up at an intersection for hours.
Tonight the standoff is over. The postal worker is safe and the gunman is in custody.

William McClanahan Junior was convicted of sexual battery last March in District Court.

The clerk says a young pregnant woman passed through her checkout line
and said: This is serious. I was kidnapped. Call the authorities when I
leave. When an older man joined her in line and asked what they were
talking about, she told him: She said you kidnapped her. And when the
clerk made a joke about it, the man laughed and said: Yeah, I guess I
kidnapped her.

distracted and forgot until news reports jogged her memory.

This week, the board of R. J. Reynolds- Patrick County Memorial voted to accept the letter of intent from Agemark Incorporated.

The Martinsville Speedway is branching out in a big way later this spring.

Speedway president Clay Campbell to build a new 6-lane of a new, six-lane entrance to the facility that is much needed to handle not only race traffic, but also pedestrians.
The track also is finally moving the railroad tracks that
parallel the speedway's back stretch to allow for future expansion, and the addition of 2,000 high-rise seats.
Work on the new entrance and seats will begin immediately after the running
of the Virginia 500 on April 13.
The track's new capacity will be 88,000.
