Amateur videotape captured the disaster.....as Space Shuttle Columbia broke apart, 200-thousand feet above Texas. The aging aircraft was re-entering the atmosphere, headed to Florida's Kennedy Space Center. But NASA lost communication with the crew, just 15 minutes before its expected landing...

SOT - PRESIDENT BUSH

"Debris was seen falling from skies above texas...the columbia is lost...there are no survivors."
The shuttle carried six Americans and Israel's first astronaut....they were on their way home from a successful, 16 day scientific mission. NASA says the first sign of trouble came with a loss of temperature sensors in the left wing. But experts caution, it could be months...or more...to find the exact cause.

SOT - BILL READDY/NASA ASTRONAUT

"We must find what happened and fix it and move on...and we can't let their sacrifice be in vain."

(nats...debris)

(LOCATOR: PALESTINE, TX)

Investigators are focused on fields of debris, reported across a wide area of north and east Texas. Residents found chunks of wax-like material - and other possible pieces of the shuttle -- right outside their homes.

SOT - JAMES ADAMS/TEXAS RESIDENT

"It just was layin' in the yard, didn't know what it was, so I said we better call 9-1-1."
NASA is warning residents not to touch anything they find, as it could be toxic. Investigators are asking witnesses for any video or photos of the explosion ...as they begin a painstaking mission of their own -- to determine what went so terribly wrong.

Travis Watson did his thing for the Cavs down low, scoring the deuce off the window.
But the Ramblin' Wreck finished the first twenty minutes with a flurry. Chris Bosh threw down the big jam. Tech led 38-28 at the break, leaving Gillen looking for answers.
The home team blew it open in the second half. Marvin Lewis got free with the stepback and stroked the triple.
Later, Jarrett Jack goes right down the lane taking advantage of the matador 'd' by the Cavs, who trailed by 17.
