A Pittsylvanin County jury got its first look today at evidence in the capital murder trial of Roy Douglas Inge Junior.

The 24-year old is charged with gunning down Deputy Frankie Betterton during a traffic stop last May. Betterton had stopped Inge because he was allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend, who worked for Betterton's wife at the Brosville Animal Clinic. Investigator William Baggerly was the first to find Betterton after the shooting.

An investigation has cleared the Salem police officer who accidentally shot a man he was trying to arrest.
Today, the Commonwealth's Attorney said he believes the officer's actions were appropriate for the investigation he was conducting.

Joe Dashiell covered the shooting in December, and he's here tonight with more on today's announcement.

Jean, the Virginia State Police investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting, and Salem Commonwealth's Attorney Fred King reviewed the facts.
He found the conduct of Detective Michael Brightwell Junior was appropriate and does not warrant any action by his office.

Michael Scott Peery was wounded December 17th in the parking lot of Lee-Hi Lanes.
Authorities said the incident occurred as officers were trying to make an undercover drug buy.
In a news release, the prosecutor said the officer was justified in drawing his weapon. He said Peery refused to obey Brightwell's commands and tried to escape. And King found that Detective Brightwell did not intentionally discharge his weapon.

A shooting in Israel- Israeli soldiers fire at a boy.

The soldiers shot the 13 year old in the face with rubber bullets like these after a group of boys pelted the troops tanks with stones in the West Bank.
The boy was taken to a nearby hospital. He lost an eye and suffered serious damage to his nose and mouth.
The boy was reportedly throwing stones at troops during a curfew which was imposed by the army.

The maker of a new drug, (See-ALL-is), Cialis, says it's better than Viagra because it lasts longer and acts faster.
The pharmaceutical company says Cialis (See-ALL-is) stays active in the body for 24 hours compared to Viagra's three to four hours.
The drug has already been introduced in Europe. No word yet on when it will go on sale in the United States.

Virginia point guard Keith Jenifer was suspended indefinitely last night from the UVa men's basketball team.

British police have arrested singer Courtney Love after she arrived on a trans-Atlantic flight at London's Heathrow Airport.

A spokesman for Virgin Atlantic Airlines says the 38 year singer was detained this morning after a disturbance on a flight from Los Angeles.
Love allegedly argued with the cabin crew while the plane was in the air.
The plane's captain called police during the flight.
Witnesses said officers met the flight when it arrived, and after about 20 minutes, Love was escorted off and put into a police van. Love's publicist says there was a brief verbal disagreement during Love's flight, but the situation has been ``highly exaggerated.''
