A Pittsylvania County jury says the 24-year old man who killed Sheriff's Deputy Frankie Betterton should die for the crime.

Yesterday, the jury found that Roy Inge (Ihnj) Junior shot Deputy Betterton in the head during a traffic stop last May.
During the sentencing phase of the trial today, Inge's former girlfriend spoke of a relationship that was often marked by bizarre behavior.
Betterton's widow testified about the effect his death has had on their 12-year old son, Frankie Junior.

Police say 32-year-old Travis William Romenesko may have fallen asleep before his Nissan pickup truck slammed into a parked tractor-trailer.
The accident happened just before six this morning in the southbound lane of route-29.
There were minor delays in the primary lanes of the highway, and the nearby Altavista exit ramp was completely blocked for a short period of time.
