The City of Roanoke assembled its snowplows early in the day, and sent some workers home early, only to bring them back to work overnight.
What may end up being a headache for snowplow crews, is usually a boom for the private sector. Gas, milk and bread were hot commodities, as people get ready to spend a few days indoors, just in case.

A Charlottesville man died in an accident early this morning in Campbell County.

Authorities identify the man as 32-year-old Travis William Romenesko.
State Police say Romenesko's 19-95 Nissan pickup truck was traveling south on route-29 around six this morning when it ran into the back of a parked tractor-trailer.
A trooper says it is possible Romenesko fell asleep at the wheel, but they may never know for sure.
Traffic was slowed on the highway, and stopped on the nearby Altavista exit ramp.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not seriously injured.
