Published reports say an arrest has been made in a murder case out of Pittsylvania County.

The Danville Register and Bee says that Rick Pulley has been arrested for the first degree murder of his wife Patty Jo Pulley.
The 37-year old disappeared in May of 1999 when she left her home to go shopping in Danville.
Her remains were found near a bridge in Caswell County North Carolina last December.
The Caswell County sheriff's department is holding a press conference this afternoon, we'll have more on the story on News 7 at 5 and 6.

Roanoke Police have also made an arrest in a two- year- old murder case.

37- year- old Darrell Jeffrey Carter was taken into custody early this morning.
Carter faces a charge of second degree murder. He's accused of beating Timothy Smithers to death in August of 2001.

Smithers' body was found in the 1400 block of Patterson Avenue.
Carter was indicted earlier this month, and police have been searching for him since.
He is being held without bond in the Roanoke City Jail.

A state trooper was apparently in the wrong place at the wrong time when he was guarding one accident scene.

A video camera caught an S-U-V speeding down the road, and crashing right into the trooper's car.
Authorities say the driver may NOT have been able to see the other vehicles on the side of the road, and then apparently couldn't stop because of the ice.
The S-U-V rolled over several times.
