((Another morning, another blanket of light snow over downtown Roanoke.
Drivers will find standing water... and plenty of slippery spots...
But the plows and chemical spreaders have been able to stay ahead of this storm...
and this morning, downtown roads... and the region's highways are in reasonably good shape.

The dreaded "wintry mix" made a run on the Roanoke Valley overnight.
Once again, moisture from the south combined with freezing temperatures to leave an icy glaze over western Virginia.

Kim, the Virginia Department of Transportation tells us that the interstates and major routes are mostly clear with icy patches... but the department is warning conditions may worsen.
Of course, local roads aren't any better... making it another challenging morning for the folks who deliver the newspaper.

It's 3:30 and the Roanoke Times is hot off the press.
But the carriers who converge on the distribution center will be delivering their newspaper through snow and ice.

On this morning, roads are relatively clear...
But it has clearly been a challenging winter for those who deliver the day's headlines.

Kim... road conditions weren't too bad early this morning, but the sleet moved in and more precipitaiton is expected.
For most of us, the best advice may be to stay home and off the road, but some folks don't have that luxury.
