One place taking particular interest is Tennessee. Ahmed (El-sah-kahn) Elsakaan caught the attention of authorities there Sunday morning while taking pictures of a a hydro-electric dam. After the suspicious activity, an all-points bulletin was issued for the photographer and his brother. But right now, the brothers are just facing fraud charges stemming from the false information given to a DMV in Richmond.))

Convicted killer Jens Soering's latest legal appeal has been shot down.

Soering is serving two life terms for the 1985 murders of his girlfriend's parents, Derek and Nancy Haysom, in their Bedford County home.
He appealed his conviction, claiming trial judge William Sweeney should have recused himself from the case because he knew the victims' family.
Soering's claim had already been rejected at every judicial level from the Virginia Court of Appeals to the U-S Supreme Court.
His latest try was referred to Judge J. Samuel Johnston in Campbell County.
Johnston ruled today that Soering's appeal was completely without merit and that his original petition was a -quote-"scathing attack on Judge Sweeney's fairness and integrity".

A North Carolina nurse now faces criminal charges for misleading authorities in the Logan Bowman case. Gail McKinney was arrested last month, after she told police she gave Logan a flu shot at an armory in Elkin. Authorities say McKinney made up the story. They charged her with knowingly giving false information to police. Meanwhile, the Grayson County Sheriff's office says it will conduct another extensive search this weekend. Logan's been missing since early January.

Telephone company Ntelos (en-TELL'-ohs) filed for bankruptcy protection today.
Officials of the Waynesboro-based company say the bankruptcy filing is part of a plan to restructure and reduce debt.
The company says it will continue operations while reorganizing.
At the news, Ntelos stock fell to just seven cents a share.

A train and a car collided at a crossing in Salem this afternoon.

The accident at Mill Lane injured the driver, a 44-year-old woman from Roanoke.
She told police that she failed to see the gate coming down, tried to stop in time, but ended up in the railbed.
The train crashed into the left side of her car.
Authorities says she was alert and in stable condition on her way to Carilion Roanoke Memorial.
They have yet to release her name.

Police say 81-year-old Hugh (Duh-lay-nee) Dulaney was alone in the truck, when he lost control and ran into an old bus garage. At last report, he was in the emergency room at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Officials say Dulaney suffers from a health condition that may have contributed to the accident.

The Forest Service is days away from releasing its newly revised plans for managing National Forests.

The Sierra Club today spoke out against the plans with a rally at the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest Supervisor's office. The club presented 8-foot tall "reformed logger" Paul Bunyon and thousands of postcards in support of a ban on commercial logging on national forestland.
