inspections are not working and that Saddam Hussein must go. Even Great Britain, our top ally is wavering... now offering to negotiate the terms of a resolution authorizing war.
It appears the U.S. may act with or without UN approval. This line can change depending on bite:
Bush: Earlier on Thursday, the senate's top democrat said he wasn't ready to give up on diplomacy.

New York Police and a bomb squad began a sweep of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
Officials also found a gun in a trash can across the street from the hotel.
At last report, Powell was still inside the hotel.
He was holding separate meetings with the foreign ministers of Germany and France.

Last month, the school superintendent announced plans to close the Career Center here at the old William Byrd High school.
The program would have then been divided among several schools throughout Roanoke County.

It is a medical first- cardiologists in Michigan used stem cells to try and repair a teenagers badly damaged heart- and it may be working.

A chemical spill shut-down part of Interstate-77 today for more than 10-hours.

It happened this morning at mile-marker-43, north of Wytheville.
Police say a tractor-trailer overturned, spilling more ammonium nitrate and diesel fuel.
The spill was so dangerous, police shut-down both sides of the interstate, and told workers at a nearby training center to evacuate.
The driver of the truck, was not seriously hurt, but he was cited for reckless driving and failure to maintain proper control.

The Botetourt County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shooting involving the wife of a federal marshal.
It happened around ten yesterday morning on Beachview Lane in the Rainbow Forest subdivision.
Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle says deputies responded to a report that a woman walked into her home, found a burglar and was then shot.
The intruder was described as a white male wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and a black mask.
The victim is recovering from a single gunshot wound.
Her name is not being released at this time.
Investigators say they found the gun at the scene.

Authorities say the body of Larry Ralph King was found shortly before seven yesterday morning at a residence in Cana.

He faces charges including first degree murder and he is being held without bond in the New River Valley Regional jail.

Someone forgot to tell Radee Skipworth. He scored a game high 36 points tonight as he hit 14 out of 19 shots from the field, and as you can see they were tough shots.
Point guard Ben Rand also came up huge with 9 assists against the Wildcats.
The win over Davidson is absolutely staggering when you consider that just last week - VMI lost to this same team 84-to-49.

It was seniors' night at Cameron Indoor Stadium as the three upperclassman on the Duke team including Dahntay Jones said so long.
Jones scored 14 points and got plenty of help from his Dookie teammates this evening and Daniel Ewing, Chris Duhon and Sheldon Williams all scored in double figures, as well. Williams also had 17 rebounds.

As a result of last night's game Florida State locks up last place in the ACC.
Take a look at the bottom five teams in the league - as they stand right now.
There are three huge games this weekend that will determine if Virginia ends up going against FSU in the Thursday night play-in game.
On Saturday, Clemson is at Georgia Tech.
Sunday afternoon -Duke is at UNC, and on Sunday night Virginia hosts Maryland.
UVa really needs to win because the tiebreaker does not favor the Cavs.
They lost both games to Clemson this year, both games to Ga. Tech and split with FSU and Carolina.
