The French recently purchased a six year old prize- winning stallion from Sally and Roddy Moore in Ferrum. The Percheron (Purch-eron) named "Cruiser" was selected from among 14 other horses in the U-S and Canada for use in breeding. In France, the horses have long been used for farm work but the French are hoping the qualities of the American Percheron will help their draft horses succeed in another line of work.

All six workers are back on the job.
The Rocky Mount branch is one of the last three offices that reopened yesterday.
Public outcry prompted lawmakers to bring them back.
Many customers said they waited until the branch reopened to do their business ... rather than brave long lines elsewhere.
