The male is one of only three baby baboons at the North Carolina Zoological Park in Asheboro. Because so few have been born in recent years, the mother didn't know what to do with her new offspring and abandoned it. Zoo keepers found a "nanny" of sorts in the baby's biological "grandmother".

Three times a day, keepers bribe the female to allow the baby to eat. The two have formed a bond and the group has accepted a new member. (------------)
