U-S ground forces have moved into the heart of Baghdad.
A spokesman says Army units are defeating Iraqi forces and don't intend to pull back.
But an Iraqi official is painting a very different picture.
Iraq's information minister claims suicide attackers have forced coalition troops from Baghdad's main airport.
The coalition says it still controls the airport.
Meanwhile, eight bodies recovered in the raid to free American prisoner of war Jessica Lynch were soldiers from her ambushed convoy.
The Pentagon says seven were members of Lynch's
maintenance unit from Fort Bliss, Texas. Another was from Fort Stewart in Georgia.

((The World Health Organization has been trying to enter Guangdong for several
days. After being granted permission by Chinese authorities, team-members are
now in the very province where SARS is thought to have originated.
The W.H.O is visiting hospitals and meeting with local officials to learn more
about the spread of the disease which has infected at least 1000 people here.
Chinese officials think they've found some connection between SARS and
Chlamydia. This is not the sexually transmitted type of chlamydia but a
relatively common form of bacteria that is transmitted by coughing or sneezing.
Friday, Chinese researchers said that since mid-February, they have found
chlamydia-like agents in the bodies of about 10-percent of Chinese who died of
SARS.
The World Health Organization says it's likely a coincidence but the WHO team
in China says they're looking at it.
IT'S ONE VIRUS ACTING WITH OTHER THINGS - AND IN CHINA IT HAPPENS TO BE
CHLAMYDIA. SO THERE ARE INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING INTO THAT.
The U-S Centers for Disease Control says it has tested but has not found a
connection between SARS and chlamydia.
SOT: I'M NOT AWARE REALLY IN ANY OF THE OTHER COUNTRIES, OTHER THAN THE
INITIAL REPORTS FROM CHINA, I'M NOT AWARE OF IT SHOWING UP WITH ANY SIGNIFICANT
FREQUENCY. SO I DON'T THINK IT'S LIKELY TO BE PLAYING A ROLE HERE.
Researchers say SARS probably began spreading from Guangdong to other countries
in mid-February. The new wave of infections was linked to the Hong Kong
Metropole hotel where a doctor from Guangdong was seen by guests coughing and
sneezing in the elevator lobby. A number of Metropole guests and visitors then
traveled to Singapore, Vietnam and Canada, where they had to be treated for
SARS. They also tiggered other infections. One visitor to the hotel was treated
at Hong Kong's Prince of Wales hospital in early March and infected Raymond
Wong, the hematologist who treated him.
I FELT VERY BREATHLESS AND I COULD ONLY LIE IN BED. EVEN TO SIT UP IN BED I GOT
BREATHLESS. I COULDN'T BREATH.
Wong says he's now made a full recovery. And maintains hospital hygene in Hong
Kong has been improved and healthcare workers are taking precautions so the
risk of spreading SARS is much lower.
HOWEVER OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, AT LEAST ANOTHER DOZEN DOCTORS AND NURSES HAVE
BEEN DIAGNOESED WITH THE DISEASE.
