Volunteers from Giles County and Monroe County, West Virginia spent the weekend looking for 40- year- old James Pearly Simonds. The Stuarts Draft man hasn't been seen since last Saturday. His capsized boat was found the next day. Since then, volunteers have been searching the river banks. Rescue workers say rough waters have made searching the river difficult and cold water temperatures have hampered underwater searches. Yesterday was the last day of organized searches.

Virginia educators can turn to a new website to help them maintain order in schools and safety for students. It's called `Virginia Best Practices in School-based Violence Prevention.'' The web site contains a list of 182 violence-prevention programs used by Virginia schools. It includes descriptions of each program, the school divisions using them and links to the programs' Web sites. The site also allows users to create accounts and save their favorite programs.

The principal of Annandale High School in Northern Virginia is putting a stop to the latest fashion trends in school-- pajama wear. The trend includes wearing pajama bottoms and a matching T-Shirt with flips flops or fuzzy slippers. Seniors at the school say there's no difference between pajamas and sweat pants. But the principal disagreed and placed a ban on pajama wear.
The Fairfax County School Board is scheduled to review and vote on a clearly defined dress code this week.
