In tonight's Busch race, in the late going Mike Bliss spun and backed into the wall with just 11 laps to go. That brought out the yellow, and fluid from the 20 car forced Nascar to pull out the red flag.
Then with just 3 to go, Ron Hornaday got turned around by Shane Hmiel bringing out the caution for a race record 14th time. That allowed Kevin Harvick to take the checkers under the yellow. Scott Riggs was 2nd.

There were plenty of kisses to go around from Mugsy tonight at the ballpark.
Brayan Pena gave the Pelicans a 2-nothing lead in the 4th, crushing this pitch to deep centerfield. It's off the wall for the RBI.

Pelicans starter Dan Curtis allowed just one hit over five innings of work and Myrtle Beach won it 8 to 5.

((1009 athletes are competing out in the hot sun and while some have found a few ways to keep cool, Cave Spring wins the prize with the pop up camper. ((:))
But some athletes are a little hot under the collar. This years event is a week later because spring break was moved for most schools and the Cosmo had to move as well. The Saturday competition, the second day, now falls on the same day as SAT's and the senior high field events finals run during the tests. ((:))
No team is hit harder than Fleming. Ryan McCoy, the Colonels national champion triple jumper, is taking the SAT and will not have a chance to win the Cosmo or give his team valuable points in an event he is sure to win. Teammate India Mierez is the Blue Ridge Districts top shot putter, but will also miss the finals Saturday because of the test. ((:))
Patrick Henry's J.J. Elliott must finish the tests at noon and then get to Salem for a possible one o'clock 4 by 4 event.)) ((:)) ((:))
