A lot of work and preparation has gone into making tonight's event.

Federal agents say two fires at a historic Dublin Church are NOT the work of an arsonist.
But they're still not sure WHAT caused them.

The Dublin United Methodist Church caught fire Monday -- just three weeks after the first one.
Both fires started in the oldest part of the church, which was built in the late 1800s.

The Radford Board of Visitors unanimously approved a round of tuition increases today, in what the schools says is a response to state budget cuts. The total tuition, fees, and room and board will rise by more than 500 dollars for in-state undergraduate students, and more than eleven-hundred for out of state students. For graduate level study, in-state students will pay nearly 400 dollars more next year, and out of state students will pay nearly 800 dollars more. The Board of Visitors also discussed launching a new fundraising campaign, but did not take any action.

But some athletes are a little hot under the collar. This years event is a week later because spring break was moved for most schools and the Cosmo had to move as well. The Saturday competition, the second day, now falls on the same day as SAT's and the senior high field events finals run during the tests. ((:))
No team is hit harder than Fleming. Ryan McCoy, the Colonels national champion triple jumper, is taking the SAT and will not have a chance to win the Cosmo or give his team valuable points in an event he is sure to win. Teammate India Mierez is the Blue Ridge Districts top shot putter, but will also miss the finals Saturday because of the test. ((:))

To the college hoop court, where former Virginia assistant coach Anthony Solomon has his first head coaching job. Today Slo was named the new skipper at Saint Bonaventure. A four year letterman for the Cavs in the mid 80's, Solomon also spent time on the staff at Clemson and the past two seasons he worked under Mike Brey at Notre Dame.

Two of the nation's best college players are moving on as well. Texas guard T-J Ford has declared for the June NBA draft. Ford who led the Longhorns to the Final Four for the first time in 57 years gives up his final two seasons of eligibility.
He'll be joined in the draft by Marquette junior Dwayne Wade. The 6-4 Wade averaged nearly 22 points per game for the Golden Eagles this season.
