An earthquake shook parts of central Virginia this afternoon.
A spokeswoman with the U-S Geological Survey says the quake measured 3-point-9 on the Richter scale.

It was centered five miles east of Columbia.
Many people in the region called 9-1-1 centers and radio stations right after the quake.
Spotsylvania Emergency Services Manager Doug Boggs says calls have come from northern Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley, Charlottesville and the Lake Anna area.

A Virginia Tech student has died from injuries she suffered in an April 26th accident in Montgomery County.

Virginia State Police say 18-year-old Ashley Kruegar was one of six Virginia Tech students riding in a Ford Explorer that went out of control on Interstate 81, ran into the median and rolled.
Kruegar died yesterday at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Police believe a 19-year-old student who was driving the Explorer fell asleep at the wheel. He has been charged with reckless driving.

Huda Salih Mahdi Ammash is number 53 on the top 55 most wanted in Iraq.
The 49 year old has been dubbed Mrs. Anthrax.
It's believed she played a key role in the rebilding of Baghdad's biological weapons capability since the Gulf war.


Ammash's father was a high level party revolutionary who was believed to have been ordered killed by Saddam.
Ammash did graduate study in the U-S earning a master of science at Texas Woman's University and a doctorate in microbiology at the University of Missouri.

A couple of other notes about Nadeau. Doctors say although some reports have indicated otherwise, Nadeau does NOT have a skull fracture. This is Decision day for embattled Iowa State head coach Larry Eustachy - the basketball coach photographed partying with coeds from a rival school.

Alabama determined that the "The Price was wrong" and fired Mike Price before he could even coach a single game. The likely man to replace Price appears to be Mike Shula, the son of NFL hall of fame coach Don Shula. Bama has received permission to talk to the Miami Dolphins quarterbacks coach and Alabama athletic director Mal Moore and university president Robert E. Witt were reportedly flying to South Florida to meet with Shula today or tomorrow. Shula is very familiar with Alabama. He was a three-year starter from 1984-86, totaling 3,881 throwing yards, 33 touchdowns and 30 interceptions.

Roanoke Catholic star point guard Tony Hairston has decided to play college basketball at Division III Washington and Jefferson of the Presidents Athletic Conference.

Joey's gotten married. His spokesman confirms that "Friends" star, Matt LeBlanc tied the knot with Melissa McKnight in Hawaii.

LeBlanc and McKnight had been engaged for five years. Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox were there.
Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer couldn't make it. Perry's in a play in London and Schwimmer was in Chicago.
Schwimmer and Perry are now the only members of the ``Friends'' cast who are still single.
