Both robberies happened shortly after the bank branches opened this morning.

Keith, Shannon, so far, it appears to be a coincidence that two branches of the same bank were targeted.

Police say THIS suspect was stockier, wore a red jacket and gloves and demanded money from the teller using a note.
This one RAN away from the bank.
For Roanoke Police, today's bank robbery was the third in two weeks.

New information may help solve a three-year-old murder case in Radford.

23-year-old Lori Pleasants of Danville was found dead in her apartment in June of 2000. An autopsy showed she was strangled and her wrist had been cut.

No one has been charged with her death. But investigators say they recently got a break in the case, from a massive e-mail campaign directed at Radford University students. Lori Pleasants attended Radford. Police say a Danville woman who did not know Pleasants, called them with information that could help find the killer.

Bedford County officials are investigating an afternoon fire.

Drivers on Sandy Level Road noticed smoke coming from this house and called fire crews. No one was inside the house at the time. It took several companies from the surrounding area about 45-minutes to get the blaze under control. They had to shuttle water in because the area does not have a municipal water system. Moneta's Fire chief says most of the heat and smoke damage is limited to the inside. A cause has yet to be determined.

At this week's Town Council meeting in Glasgow, artist Mark Cline announced that the dinosaurs will stay for a while longer, and will be getting some company. The original beasts have lived in Glasgow since the beginning of April.

Guard Tadas Stanaitis (Sta-night-us) will sign a grant in aid to play at UNC Pembroke. The Braves play in the Peach Belt conference. The city is kicking in 50-thousand dollars towards the project.. organizers will need to raise another 200-thousand to make it a reality.
The museum is hosting a discussion of the plans tonight, hoping to get some citizen input before they start fundraising.
