The U-S and its allies have formally asked the United Nations Security Council to lift sanctions against Iraq.
(------------)
[VO-NAT]

It would lift U-N sanctions immediately and phase- out the oil- for-food program, meaning that Iraq's oil money could start paying for its reconstruction.
That would take Iraq's oil wealth out of the hands of the U-N, and put it under U-S and British control.
The U-S is also ready to portray its troops in Iraq as ''occupying powers.''
That's the way the coalition forces are described in the resolution.

Between the milestone ages of 18 and 21 is considered the time when most of us become adults... right?
Maybe not.
A University of Chicago study finds Americans consider someone a grown-up around the age of 26.
The definition is that they've finished school, gotten a full- time job, and have started raising a family.
Those who organized the poll say society has accepted an "extended adolescence".
They say the growing- up process is more gradual now than it was in the 1950's.
Then, most brides got married at age 18.
Now, the average age is between 25 and 26.
