Israeli forces have blown up what they say was a bomb factory in the West Bank city of Nablus.

The Israeli army says it found a substance in the building that could be used for preparing explosive devices, along with a large amount of fertilizers, and a ready- made bomb.
The army carried out a controlled detonation in the building today.
Palestinian firefighters arrived to put out the flames.
Other Palestinians, meanwhile, were taken to the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.

A man lost control of his motorcycle and died last night in Franklin County.
State police say 57-year-old Arthur Harold Gudwin was dead at Carilion-Roanoke Memorial Hospital about an hour after the accident.
Police say he was riding his Harley-Davidson on Route 616, ran off the left side of the road, and hit a tree.

A woman was injured this morning in a collision with a truck in Montvale.
State police say a tractor-trailer was making a left turn off Route 460 in front of a car heading east.
The car hit the truck, both vehicles ending up in a field across from Montvale Elementary School.
Police say 36-year-old Susan Ann Williams of Roanoke had to be cut out of her car, and was taken by Lifeguard 10 to Carilion-Roanoke Memorial hospital.

A house fire in Danville has claimed the life of one person.
An unattended stove apparently caused the blaze.
Authorities say the victim possibly fell asleep in the bedroom, became disoriented and couldn't find a way to escape the residence at 1609 Glenn Street.
The home did not have a smoke detector.

People with lead feet may find themselves getting a little lighter in the wallet.
Governor Mark Warner is signing transportation legislation into law today that will increase fines for speeders.

The new law creates Highway Safety Corridors on certain highways throughout the state.
Portions of Interstate 81 are expected to meet the criteria, and it is believed I-81 will, in fact, become the first designated corridor.
If you're caught speeding or are charged with any moving violation within this corridor, you will face heftier fines.
Speeders can face penalties that are twice as high.

He was chosen from a field of 103 applicants for his overall excellence in athletics, citizenship and community service.
