Reconstruction officials went to work on problems with security and civil services ...and stopping Saddam's Baath party members from getting back into positions of power.
Officials are examining documents and screening applicants ...to make sure the new government is free of the party's influence. Some Iraqis say the Ba'ath Party is responsible for thousands of graves in Babylon. Distraught families are still searching for their loved ones ...often with no results. Shreds of clothing still cling to the exhumed bodies ...but unless there's an ID card inside ..it's impossible to tell who they were. Hundreds of bodies have already been found ...but Iraqis fear there are thousands more. Now that Saddam is gone ..freedom is taking shape in many forms. The Iraqi Olympic soccer team played their first exhibition Friday ...the first without violent punishment for losing or poor play. And the Iraqi people are reading literature long banned by Saddam's regime. This market sells books that were forbidden for years ..now open to any Iraqis who want to read.
