Testimony has begun in the capital murder trial of a man accused of killing a Lynchburg couple last year.

Authorities say 22-year-old Leon Jermain Winston was one of two men who burst into this home at 410 Sussex Street in April of 2002.

Winston and his accomplice allegedly shot and killed Rhonda and Anthony Robinson.
Rhonda Robinson was murdered in front of her two young daughters.
Prosecutors say D-N-A evidence links Winston to one of the murder weapons, and a witness claims Winston bragged to him about committing the crime.
The defense argues a third suspect is responsible for the murders.
The trial is expected to last at least a week.

23-year old Michael Dooley of Pulaski was shot and killed Sunday night when gunmen opened fire at a checkpoint near the Syrian border.

Dooley had been serving in the Third Armed Calvary Regiment out of Fort Carson, Colorado and was deployed to Iraq in March.
His father, Russell Dooley, says his son wanted nothing more than to proudly serve his country.

A battle with a bee, resulted in the battle of a fire in one Salem apartment complex.

Firefighters were called to the Chateau Riviera apartments on Braeburn Drive about 8-15 last night.
Officials say a resident tried to burn a bee using an aerosol can and a lighter.
The flames were sucked into the building ventilation system and burned part of the roof.
No one was injured.

Representatives from Miami, Boston College and Syracuse were allowed to listen in, but ACC commissioner John Swofford says no decisions were made today.
Meanwhile Governor Mark Warner wants to take the dispute between the A-C-C and Big East conferences to a mediator, instead of to court.
