Investigators say a Botetourt County man's troubles with the law may have led to a murder-suicide.
A passing motorist found 53-year-old Chester Spangler Junior and his 53-year-old wife, Carolyn, dead inside their car in a church parking lot last night.
The sheriff says Chester Spangler apparently shot his wife and then himself and left behind a note.
There were no signs of struggle.
Spangler was charged earlier this month with stealing 200-thousand dollars' worth of heavy equipment. He was released from jail on bond Friday.
The sheriff says the couple apparently did NOT attend Pierce Chapel United Methodist Church, where their bodies were found.

In another development today, Virginia has notified the ACC that it will not vote "yes" for expansion due to the political pressure it is receiving from around the state. More on that tonight at six.
