About two-thousand unionized employees work at Goodyear's Danville plant.
A company spokesman says the sides are having informal discussions but no new talks have been planned.
The union says it's prepared to strike if necessary, but analysts say that wouldn't be beneficial for either side.

A bird found in Southwest Roanoke County has tested positive for the West Nile Virus.
The dead raven was found in the Starkey Road area last Wednesday. The states lab in Richmond confirmed today that the bird had west Nile.
West Nile is spread through the bite of an infected mosquito.

Ways to avoid exposure include wearing long, loose and light-colored clothing, using insect repellent, cleaning out birdbaths weekly, and eliminating any standing water around your home which could be a breeding ground.
That water could be in flower pots, toys or old tires.
This is the first confirmed case of West Nile in the Roanoke Valley this year.

An informant has reportedly told police that Patrick Dennehy was shot in the head by his roommate and killed after an argument.

The Commonwealth's Attorney's office today released its findings regarding the April 14th shooting on Madison Avenue.
The investigation found Officer M-E Thompson acted reasonably when he fired four shots at a car driven by Antonio Lee Taylor.
Evidence shows Thompson fired his gun after Taylor attempted to drive away, hitting the officer with his car before hitting a house.
Taylor survived a gunshot to the chest.
He faces charges of assault on a police officer and cocaine possession.

At one point witnesses thought a plane may have gone down near the oceanfront and called out the Coast Guard and rescuers.

On to the top of the sixth inning and the Warthogs strike again. This time, Mike Morse connects on a double to right field and that plates Eric Welsh from third to make it 2-zip Hogs.
Trailing 3-nothing in the bottom of the eighth, Salem starts a rally. Trevor Mote singles and Brandon Caraway scores all the way from second to make it 3-1 but Winston Salem shutsout the Avs the rest of the way and the Warthogs win the matinee by the count of 3-1, holding the Avalanche

The first Corvette rolled off the assembly line 50-years ago today, and over the past week thousands of Corvette enthusiasts revved up their engines and flocked to Kentucky for the celebration.
Bowling Green is the home of the National Corvette Museum and the General Motors plant where the sports car is assembled.
The events ended this morning with the cutting of a birthday cake and fans singing "Happy Birthday".
The bash also included activities from concerts to caravans.
