This is Tire Energy's first plant and residents fear the company's inexperience with the technology is a risk. Company officials say they've completed environmental studies and will meet all DEQ requirements. Reports of staged fights at a 4-H Camp are forcing camp organizers to take another look at how children are supervised.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension, which runs the 4-H camp, says there were NO rivalries between the Bedford and Halifax County kids.
The group says it appears only Bedford County children and counselors were involved.
10-year-old D-J Rawls from Forest is one of dozens of young people who told investigators that teen counselors forced him to fight other campers.
The Cooperative Extension's spokesman says though there WERE many adults present, none of them noticed any of the kids' injuries.

A company that makes birth control pills is recalling some of its pills in the 28-day packs because they may be out of order.

About 470-thousand packs of Barr Laboratories' Nortrel Seven-Seven Seven pills are affected. The company will replace any out-of-order packs, and will cover the costs of pregnancy tests for women who used them.
Nortrel comes in rows of colored pills. Each row is taken a week at a time.

A major league baseball player will NOT face charges for hitting a mascot with a bat at last night's game in Milwaukee.

Pittsburgh Pirates first baseman Randall Simon took a swing at a woman wearing an Italian sausage costume at Miller Park.
It happened during the stadium's popular sausage race, which features people dressed as a bratwurst, a hot dog and Italian and Polish sausages.
They were running by the Pirates dugout when Simon hit the Italian sausage. The 18-year-old woman inside the outfit fell, along with another mascot.
The women say they don't think Simon was trying to hurt them. He says he was just trying to have fun with them. The women both suffered scraped knees.
